Glitter Cards

These are glitter cards I made in a class at Jollene's Paperie.  It is fun to get together with other ladies to craft and to learn new techniques.  I think the teacher's name is Vesta (but please excuse me if I am wrong).  She is a great teacher and for me, learning the new technique and getting to visit with the ladies is well worth the price of the class.

Masculine or unisex card set

This card set is from Dakota Paper Packet by Close To My Heart.  I used Cricut Artiste and Art Philosophy cartridges to cut the shapes.  I am planning to make a matching post it note holder and a user name and password holder.  I will post them later.

Spring Time Thank You

This is one of my favorite cards.  I found it on Pinterest by Alissa.  All supplies except for the ribbon are from Close To My Heart.  The ribbon was purchased at Michael's or Joann's.  I am still trying to use up all of my older paper so that I can eventually be justified in buying some new paper.

Having fun with the granddaughter!

Here are the cards that my 10 year old granddaughter and I made at Jody's August class.  If you look below, you will see the additional cards using the same patterns that I made when I came home.  Two of the cards that are posted above were made by Christy.  Can you tell which two they are?

Thanks...

It is always good to be thankful.  This little card is relatively easy using the Cricut Artiste and Art Philosophy cartridges from Close To My Heart along with the coordinating stamps.

Happy Birthday card using Petal papers from Close To My Heart

P

This is a birthday card my sister would love...her favorite color is purple.  This was made using Close To My Heart products.  I used the embossing folder for the center piece to create texture and the larger of the flowers is popped.  The label is also popped.

Another Thank You

This is the second card in the set that my (10 year old) granddaughter and I made at Jody's house.  I think I need a little bug to put on one of the petals.  Hmmmm...

Thanks

This card was made using the Cricut Art Philosophy and Artiste cartridges.  Christy and I made cards with Jody yesterday and came back home and varied the colors and designs a little.  I will post more soon...

San Francisco trip

My granddaughter and I just got back from visiting my sister in the San Francisco Bay Area.  We had a lot of fun horseback riding, visiting the Exploratorium which is next door to Pier 17 where my mom had a restaurant for about 12 years.  I have lots of things to scrapbook now.  Here are a few of the pictures.

Finishing up the girl's scrapbook...

Here are several more layouts for the girl's scrapbook that will be donated for Holland Festival 2015.  I still have three layouts and one pocket page to complete for the girl's album.  I hope you like them!

I would appreciate any feedback you may have.  This book will be an item on the silent auction table at Holland Festival 2015.  The three remaining layouts will include a graduation layout, a summer layout, and surprise layout (it is a surprise to me right now).  Some of the other layouts have already been posted.  (See below)

I love to scrapbook!  Here are some of the most recent pages...yes, using Close to My Heart supplies.

Thanks for looking...

I love the colors and the paper in this layout.

Holland Festival 2014

This layout is much cuter in person...I just cannot seem to get the picture right.  Again, most supplies used are from Close to My Heart.  The paper is now retired, but I am staying true to my promise to use up a significant amount of the paper I own before purchasing any more.

Here are some more scrapbook pages I am working on for next year's fundraiser or for the family albums.  The majority of supplies used are from Close to My Heart.

A few words...

I have been making photo albums for 15 years now, since my oldest granddaughter was 1 year old.  I started making cards with the scraps because I did not want to be wasteful.  At first, I struggled and threw more than a few of the cards away because I "messed them up".  Over time, I learned creative ways to cover up my mistakes and also learned that even though I might not like a particular design or color, someone else did.  I sold many of my cards at my granddaughters' school and the funds went to help pay their tuition.  I seldom buy a card these days.  Instead I just go to my "stash" and choose the appropriate card for the occasion.   My youngest granddaughter who is 9 years old makes her own cards for friends for their birthdays.  She also makes her own thank you notes and sends them out.  From my perspective, that is a positive outcome of this fun hobby.

More girl's album pages

This is the final page in the girl's album with a place to put keepsake papers.  Next year I will do a family album with all of the holidays and a birthday or celebration page.

When you are doing albums for personal use, I really encourage you to take pictures of the everyday memories and life events.  Maybe how someone handles a surgery, for example, will be an inspiration for someone else.  Happy scrapping!

Boy's Album for Holland Festival

Here is the start of the boy's album.  Next year I think I will make them to cover all the special events in the school year.

I would love to hear your feedback.
